Still Deciding......

Tomorrow has to be the big day...when we say good bye to one of our 4 legged friends. As much as we have enjoyed watching these sisters play...it's way more than I bargained for! We went to see the vet today so we could make sure both were healthy...they were!!! He tried to convince me that having two is much easier...they don't get bored and get in as much trouble!...ya so! But what about....double vet bills, double food, double poo.......
It has been a long time since I have potty trained a puppy...and I don't care to do two!! They are doing well, with only a few accidents. They were actually in the crate from 8:30-1:30 today and never had an accident!!..WOW!...Double WOW! I was expecting to come home to a real mess (no pun intended!)
I'm getting out-voted on the name, they say it's too girly....what do they expect...she's a girl!! Trent really wanted to name her 'hot-chick' we said that wasn't going to work, so he said, what about 'hot-babe'...we are sooo in trouble with that kid! I like Maci...but Steve likes Jaci......Tyler likes Laci...I see a pattern.
Troy is already starting to get upset about us finding a new home for one of them, poor kid...he wants them both now! Give them one, they want two.....

There's a baby in the house.....

Late last night we met in a parking lot in an undisclosed location, deep in the city of Grand Rapids. We were going to pick her up....but we got TWO!

Okay, before I go any farther...let me just say we aren't keeping both!

We have been looking for a couple of months now for a small dog. We are amazed at how expensive they are!! What we used to call 'mutts' are now 'Designer Dogs'. They are going for upwards of $300-$400 and a lot are $800! WOW. Even the Humane Society is selling them for $130! We have called on quite a few with none of them working out. Last night Steve found these around 6pm....we went to look at them at 8pm and was leaving with two by 8:30...how did that happen I wonder today??? I was only hoping for one! Okay here's the story....When we got there they said we could have Buy one get one free. You know I can't pass up a deal!!!! We are going to list one on Craigslist toward the end of the week. This way we get to pick the best one!

They are a Pomeranian & Jack Russell Terrier mix. Better know as a Pomajack. They definitely have the coat of a JR. One is 8lbs. the other is 10lbs. I think we are keeping the one laying down in the first picture (the 8lb. one) We don't think they will get a lot bigger, as Poms only get 3-7 lbs and JR get about 14-18lbs. Possible names is Lucy (my vote)

They are very sweet...so far and even slept through the night last night! Troy is most excited about a puppy! He has waited for this moment for a year or longer! We hope we will enjoy her and will house train fast!!....

We Did It!!!....

We beat the record! We are enjoying the snowiest February in Michigan EVER!! The record was set back in 1900 at 35.5". We got over that on Monday or Tuesday. I'm thinking it's not a big accomplishment! I would like to be setting other records! Like, fastest painting of a kitchen, cleanest house....you get the idea. This morning it was like -3°...burh! I kept my electric blanket on all night!

On a better note...Steve sold another Fire Truck....that's three! He also went to two bid openings (Tues and Wed.) and they were the low bidder!! That doesn't necessarily guarantee the bid ..but it's a good start!! One he will find out about next Friday and the other next month. Thank you for praying for us...we really appreciate it! God is sooooo good. Let the flood gates open....

Whatever you say...

I think I would have voted the same as all of you....I enjoy the changing of seasons. You all like the changing of seasons!! To be honest, I have always experienced 'the changing of seasons' so maybe that's all I know! I was born and raised in Michigan so maybe I don't know any better! Maybe I would love 70° everyday given the chance. I do think the weather is always the main topic here in Michigan...so what would we talk about, if the weather didn't change?
I think my favorite season is Spring! It just seems so good, after snow, to see green grass popping up and spring bulbs peeking through!! It just seems good to be able to get out and take a walk! Most at my house, like Fall....I think hunting may have something to do with that!!...Good Guess! Maybe that will be my next question...

AHOY MATES....

We had a party fit for a pirate. Trent invited four (one couldn't come!) of his friends to go to McD's with him today. We had a fun time and he enjoyed being the 'special' one. Troy came to help with crowd control and G&G Buckner met us up there. Aren't they adorable pirates? We enjoyed Happy Meals and ice cream sundaes. They still have a playplace at this McD's so the kids spent a lot of time in there.
It's the perfect party, in my opinion! It meets all the requirements....food, fun and it's considered a 'party'! I don't have to entertain boys with games, clean up, cook....you get the picture. I figure it's a win-win situation for all involved!! Feel free to steal this idea and use it every year till they are too old to go in the tunnels! (I think that might be this year!) Maybe we will see our friend....Chuck E Cheese next year???....

Our Birthday Boy....

Here he is, in all his 6year old glory!! Trent turned 6 yesterday and enjoyed his day morning till night! In the middle of dinner he stood up on his chair and demanded everyone sing him happy birthday! When he was getting ready for bed he said to me..."can you sing 'Happy Birthday' one more time to me?"...how could I say no?
He adds a lot of spunk to our life (that's what we refer to it as!) We were blessed to have you join our family 6 years ago. You bring such delight to our family. Thank you God for entrusting us with this little bundle of joy! He often make us laugh and brings us much joy!......

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You...

Thank you....goes to all who diligently prayed for us over the last couple of months! We got word this morning that Steve sold TWO trucks....yeah yeah yeah! Praise the Lord!! Isn't our God good?? He knows just what we need and when we need it. This certainly was not in 'my' time. Hopefully many sales will follow this set! Thank you for all your words of encouragement and prayer support...it has been a blessing to our family!!

What is going on?....

I'm wondering what is going on with our weather? Is this global warming? Last week we couldn't step outside because it was so cold...now it's all melting? We are suppose to have a winter storm tonight...go figure!!!
I wouldn't care so much but they keep canceling school! Three snow days last week...now today and maybe tomorrow? They have had the last three Tuesday's off! They will be going to school till July at this rate!
If they cancel school tomorrow, I 'm personally going to pick up all the kids and 'van' them in!
I think they are against me getting my kitchen painting job finished! I keep thinking, when they are at school I'll put one more coat on the trim...they don't seem to be going! One of my kids is a paint magnet...if he even comes close, he gets it on him!
I know you, are probably all thinking, what kind of terrible parent would write something like this. It's just that.....I had a 'plan' for today...I wanted to paint...I didn't want to break up fights...I wanted peace...I guess that 'I' is at the beginning of all those thoughts! I guess 'I' should think less of 'my' plan!!
