The Quad Squad

We arrived on Thursday night..later than we had planned...but safely and with out any break downs! Grandpa & Grandma had arrived earlier to reserve our sites. We stayed at Trout Lake Campground on Carp Lake..figure that out!?!!? This is our site..the Motor Home on the right to the two tents in the middle...and then one across the street. It was a beautiful sight...thanks G&G!Here is Tent City. We had to 2 screen rooms connected by a Easy-Up. Here are some of the 'gang' members. They are eagerly awaiting our first ride of the week-end!The Grandpa & Grandma of the 'gang'. Oh, she's smiling now..... she went on 'Kelly's Trail of Tears' and lets just say, she wasn't too fond of it! She took Friday off to recover..and too our surprise..she went again on Saturday!! Way to go Grandma!

I have to say, we are so happy that you both could go with us. What a memory you are making with your sons and grandkids! There isn't a lot of G&G that would go on such a trip as this!! Just think, three generations riding together! The grandkids will always hold these trips close to their heart!!!We took time, every morning, to pray together before we left. What a cool legacy our kids have! Knowing that God is the one that keeps us safe and that we took time to ask for His protection over us! He is a daily part of our lives! Thank you God for keeping us safe! On Saturday, we rode to Tahquamenon Falls. We come in on the South East side of the Falls. Of Course, only viewable by quads! It's a long ride...like 6 hours of riding...I know, you were probably thinking 2 hours! It was much more enjoyable to view this year, than last. When we visited last year...it was mosquitoes galore...this year, none!!!!
Here is the gang minus GrandmaWhat's a trip with out a few minor repairs??? Craig did have a problem with his clutch after Friday's ride but they were able to cobble it together with JB Weld. Now, before you think this is what we rode on all week-end long...let me just set the record straight..NO!!!! 90% were dirty dust roads and trails! We had so much dirt on (and in) us, that you could grow potatoes in our ears! We were chewing dirt, driving down the road!
We had a total of 14 quads that we took...quite a parade! We did go to Mark's Trading Post in downtown Trout Lake for ice cream on Saturday night....we kind of overwhelmed the lady running the store!
On Sunday, we were busy enjoying God's creation! Here is a trail, in the woods we were riding on. It was the sight of an abandoned Fire Tower. What a dirty face looks like! What's not to love about that face....Well, we had absolutely great weather! It rained on Sunday night...rained???....more like a typhoon rolled in!! Everyone was kept safe...except for the pound of sand sludge in the bottom of all our lungs!
Daren did have to blow "The Whistle" 2 times...I will explain that in a later post!

Grandpa's best...."The man next door was coughing so hard last night, I thought I would see his lung laying on the picnic table in the morning!"....aren't Grandpa's great!

What a fun family time!

Glad you're all home safe. It looks like a great trip, minus the dirt. Very impressive having three generations all on the same trip.

So how did the new trailer work out?
