Hopeful

This is what TV13's headlines read:
Tuesday was a record-breaking day across West Michigan with temperatures climbing into the low to mid 50s north and upper 50s to low 60s south. Grand Rapids hit 61F; the previous record was 54F set in 1966.
We are hopeful that spring is on it's way. But only in Michigan can you go from record breaking high days to average temps in 2 days with a swing of 25°!! It was funny today so see all the people out and about..they were in shorts, walking dogs, walking strollers...in most areas this temp is considered to be cold.

We'll, at least the sun is showing her face...or is the sun a he?

The Birthday Boy......

Our precious little Trentster turned 7 yesterday....February 6! We had a party for him at Playworld in Grandville. He was able to invite 4 friends......I picked them up from school and we headed out. Here are some pictures of the fun they had.......

The non-Gluten Free cake and the 2 ice creams that Troy & Trent were able to enjoy!

Trent you are a precious little boy. You add a lot of joy to our life. You are filled with loads of spunk! It is our privilege to be able to watch you grow. We are blessed to have you in our lives! Our prayer is that you grow to be a man of God, that you grow to have a real and meaningful relationship with the one true God! May you flourish in your future and may we be your biggest supporters! We love you little Trentster!

Steve and I have a fun Air-Hockey competition going on! I have to admit, me more than him!! I love the game! If I could get one in the basement..I would! Every year when we go to Grayling we play a game of Air-Hockey before we leave...it was a sad year...the machine was out of order! Can you believe it....what a let down! So anyway, we left with out a reigning champion! But guess what Playworld had.....Air-Hockey!! Yeah.....so we started....Steve right off had me by 3 but I came back for the win.....and don't you let him tell you that he LET me win! NO WAY! Before we left, I tried to let him redeem himself.....I won again!

Playing Games......

Trent and I had a few free minutes on our hands tonight so we played a game! The game he chose was Lego Creator. It's kind of a fun game. You get a card and then you try to get the pieces to complete your vehicle. Some are race cars, some are helicopters, some are
robots....you get the idea. Trent of course beat me....I was so close to taking him! I know I could have done it, had I had one more turn! I think he cheated! He built the helicopter..... It's a fun game, if you have a Lego fan in your house!

Mr. Fix-it Addendum...

Mr. Fix-it has met his match.....He's been de-throwned...he's suffered a defeat.....a blow to his self esteem! Remember all that praising I did a post back? Steve bought a plotter (a printer for large drawings) a month back....which needed a new belt...which he quickly ordered from eBay.

Problem one...he forgot to check where it was coming from......you guessed it China! So after 3 weeks of waiting, it arrived..the master was at work! He couldn't wait to get it working!

Problem two....Did you realize the ink dries up after sitting unused for 1 year...okay we were expecting that....but then just the magenta wouldn't work....odd. So take it apart and test the circuit board (or something like that!)....not getting proper signal....start soldering on tiny board. Oops, drop big glob of solder on board....that's not good!

Joanne goes to Radio Shack to purchase 'Solder Sucker'..to remove glob of solder...doesn't work....down by another $9.98!

The story is still progress.....He will not except defeat. He will not quit! ON the upside..we can print all black copies fine....just color doesn't work (which he didn't need anyway!)

PRAY for us as we grieve with Steve.....I guess he can't fix everything! There might be a rebuttal coming.....

Friends Fun Day.....

There is a lot of good about being a stay at home mom...this is one of them! A long time friend of mine, Renee, came down to spend the day with me. Yipee!! We had so much fun together that I didn't want you to miss any of it......
First, we spent about an hour and half at Goodwill
Then we picked up her copy of Fireproof Then we need to get some nourishment to feed our weary souls...so Bennigans was the place. Then we picked up some spices at one of my favorites....Penzeys Spices. They have great stuff...namely spices! Then another one of my favorites....... Milk at Save-a-lot..only 1.99 Another crafters choice..BTW..I bought nothing here!!
Plumb's had a 4 day sale.....don't want to miss out on Bugles for 99¢. Well...that was kinda of a wasted stop..the sale starts on Thursday...Oops!
A quick look at Valueland, which was a total waste of time!!
That was how we spent the day! What fun we had. Her husband commented to her on the way down from Traverse City.....What are you really gonna do for 5+ hours? Don't you worry Jim, we've got that covered!
Renee has remained a great friend....Thanks Renee for coming and hanging out for the day!

Mr Fix-it!

I married Mr. Fix-it....seriously! If Steve can't fix it...it literally can't be fixed! He has been known to fix things....well, that shouldn't be fixed. Things that have lived there life here on earth. We think of it as doing our part in the 'Green' world...you know, keeping it from the landfill for another year.

Just the other day he delighted me by fixing my mouse....it had issues...serious issues! I would scroll down and it would....but then it would scroll up and then back down and up and down. You see how this could be irritating when you are trying to read a blog. You have to take Dramamine before you start scrolling your blog list.

As I was telling him about my mouse issues the other day...his first response was...use this corded mouse. I wanted to keep my cordless mouse. Then I proceeded to try and pry my sick mouse apart. He responded in his most loving voice...give it to me. (It had screws holding it together..I would have been there awhile!) He examined it's inter workings..and blew a magic breath of life into it. It is a joy to scroll now! I scroll all the day long..scrolling here and scrolling there!

You are a true servant to me Steve! You keep our house running at top scrolling speed! Love my WD-30 and you!

We Did It

We went to see a movie.....shocking I know! We really don't take in very many movies through out the year.

Friday was a special day.....we went to see Mall*Cop. The choices were Marley and Me or Mall*Cop. This is how I decided to pick the movie we would go see. I would watch the trailer on the computer and which ever one made me laugh I would go see...sounds fair right!?!? Well, to me honest, they both made me laugh...we took a quick family vote....and Mall*Cop won.

I have to admit, I kinda like Kevin James...he kinda has that John Candy style...may he rest in peace. I also have to admit, when John Candy died it kinda bummed me out.....no more Uncle Buck or Planes Trains and Automobiles...one of the funniest movies EVER! He was, what I would call a real actor! I mean, you could get a serious laugh going at one of his movies!

Now, was I talking about Mall*Cop or how funny John Candy was? Anyway, we arrived in Buckner fashion....as the trailers were playing with popcorn and pop in hand...a must! I wasn't disappointed! I laughed all the way through. Now, you more serious readers will not want to go see this selection...it's not for you! This is a movie strictly for entertainment purposes only. No plot to figure out, no blood, no gore, no nudity....well, except when he was fighting with the lady in Victoria Secrets, no swearing...just fun, fun, fun! I love to laugh, don't they say it does a body good???(or is that milk?) Isn't laughter the best medicine?

Siskel and I give it 2 thumbs up...or was that Ebert??...it's a must see!
