Father & Son....

Well this is what has been going on at our house.....
With having a teenage driver comes an old car. With old cars comes rust. With rust comes rusty parts. With rusty parts comes rusty brake lines. Are you seeing a theme here?
Okay, so I'm assuming you are all quick and understand that we have had a major car project going on in our garage!
What started out as a rear brake line leak, quickly turned into a TOTAL brake line job!
We had broken bolts, leaking this and that, twisted parts.....you name it, we had it!
But tonight they had a break through...they started to put NEW parts back on. WOW...I didn't think it would happen!
It has been a great leaning experience for Tyler..he has worked right along side Steve! No free rides here. Steve would tell him to go out and start removing parts till he got to a solid one. Tyler would often come in to get his next assignment from Steve and for the most part has been diligent in working on it.
Steve has done a great job at being a patient teacher! His desire is to teach his boys to be men...this is one step, that he feels is way to important to skip over...car repair! No seriously, it's so much more than that! Tyler has learned sooo much from this experience. Things that will be a benefit to him, for years to come!
Steve would have just as soon taken this to a garage to have it done by someone else but would it have been this much fun?? Would Tyler have learned what he did and more importantly spent time with his dad in the garage? Thank you Steve for being diligent in helping your boys grow to be men! The reward will be worth all the back ache, dirty grease hands and pain of it all! Your Awesome Honey!

Problems and Solutions...

The Problem: The dishwasher isn't working!
Which is a big problem for me...these hands have seen dishwater in.....I don't know how long...and they like it that way!

When I first was thinking of getting a dishwasher, about 10 years ago...I wasn't sure I wanted one...what was I thinking about? It seems that the control which tells it when to put water in, is worn out..go figure. Steve tried to 'tweek' it, but it can't be 'tweeked'. He must have taken it apart 12 times today, thinking he was missing something that would make it work...nope! Now, we aren't keeping track but you do remember the post a couple months back..Mr Fix-it! He seems to be on a bad roll....

The Solution:
I know, this isn't for small children to view..please cover their eyes. It's not a sight ever seen before.....

Steve and Tyler bonding over washing dishes..WOW...my eyes can bearly believe it! They discussed our dating days and other subjects while Tyler dried and Steve washed. I couldn't help but capture this moment in time!

Thanks guys for pitching in! Steve, it was truly a blessing to see you lead by example. Your boys bonused-out when they got you for a dad!

Trent wanted me to show what he got a Chuck E Cheese's last night........
Only $20...that's not bad!
