Jaxi is loved by all but I have to admit, she loves me the most..only because I feed her the most.  She likes Troy the least..only because he shot a Nerf bullet at her and she obviously has a good memory!  

We love our Jaxi..Happy Birthday little Miss!

Separated at birth....

This is the story of our dog Jaxi...

When we found her, on the Internet, the people asked us which 2 we wanted look at..as we were meeting them in a GR parking lot.

We arrived on a Sunday evening in a Pets Supplies Plus Store parking lot

 to see two adorable puppies (aren't all puppies cute!)

We picked the one we wanted..before we left, they said it was a buy one get one free deal....hmmm!

If you know me I'm all about deals..=)!

We returned home home with 2 puppies.

I could quickly see everyone was wanting to keep both of them...ummm...no!

Our target date was by Wednesday to find a home for our other puppy.

We did!....the Iwaniw's...welcomed little Lucy!

Fast forward 2 1/2 years....

We know the Iwaniw's, which live a couple miles from us and Trent had her for a 3rd grade teacher this past year.  We have often talked about getting the 'sister's' together...and finally it happened! Last night Tyler & Alisha were going to their house for a bonfire and they took Jaxi to meet Lucy.  Not really a happy reunion, especially fro Lucy!  She wasn't real fond of Jaxi.  Jaxi is full energy dog.  Lucy is quite timid. Jaxi wanted to play with her and she wasn't having any of that!!!

And Sunday....

She chewed up Steve's brand new hat from the Eddie Bauer store. She took a chunk right out of bill, while we were at church. She must have known how much he loved that hat.

Buying a hat for Steve is like a women buying a purse..it's gotta meet a lot of criteria! As a matter of fact, he bought one at the Nike store but then decided after a day that really didn't like it's feel. Now, I have to admit, Steve is not this picky on most anything..I can buy him a size 10 shoes...and he's good...Target, Meijers, Kohl's..anywhere..but hats, that's a different story!

Then there's me....I'm picky about everything.....I think I was born to be a queen! It has to "feel right" to me....you name it, purses, socks, belts, headbands, cell phones, underwear....everything!

Okay, I was writing about the Jaxi and Sunday and the hat... Lest you all think we are cruel to Jaxi for putting a shock collar on her..we aren't! That dog sleeps with Troy or Tyler, gets groomed 5-6 times a year, went to the vet to get her shots, (unlike when Steve would give them to Sadie at home) eats Iams (instead of Wal-mart) She is treated quite kindly here!

So don't anyone turn me into PETA......

Bad Dog!

Bad Dog or Good Dog....that is the question???

This little Jem was as naughty as can be yesterday. She is the most mild sweet little dog till about 2 :30, when she hears the roar of the buses coming by. She turns crazy!

So we know this and we are careful not to let her out. One of the biggest problems we have with her is keeping he in our yard. We have a playground in our backyard and she thinks the kids are their to play with her! We have a fenced in backyard but she has a few places she can sneak under.

So we remedied this, buy purchasing a shock collar...which she respects!! It has a tone button that you push before you use the shock button...which we have only used, like twice...she got the hint real quickly!! She would see us with the controller and she would come running!

So yesterday..she got in the school yard to visit some kids and they had a dog...what a circus! She ran and ran..the more you chaser the more she thinks it's a game! Oh, did I mention she is part Jack Russell! Everyone, at first, thinks they can catch her but then we inevitably hear...she's fast! So, 20 minutes later..Trent caught her! So we brought her in and I thought she was in the house for good and low and behold about 10 minutes later someone left the door ajar and she was off again! We all were so irritated! Off the the boys went to catch her. This time she ran and ran and ran! She saw in the distance some people...oh, that's a HS baseball game. You guessed it right on the field..stupid dog..some how Tyler chased her off the field and eventually caught her. They had to stop the game and wait for her. I did chuckle a little when they can home and reported this! We found out the shock collar isn't working correctly..fine time to find that out!!

And you thought that was all...again someone left the back door ajar and off again..to see another dog at the playground..bad dog. She was easily caught this time, as I think she was worn out!

Jaxi...I'm gonna start waterboarding you! Just kidding!

Happy Birthday to you Jaxi!

Our little Jaxi is officially one year old today!! I gave her some banana for her birthday breakfast. She went for a ride in the van to the nail trimming place....which I might add, was not a present for her at all!! She doesn't care for either of those things......rides or nails!

We did get her some birthday presents......a big rawhide bone...which she can hardly pick up and a pink loofa dog toy (she is supporting breast cancer awareness!) The dog toy has a squeaker in it, which she will most definitely have out by the end of the night...she loves the challenge of getting the squeaker out of the toy!

She has been a fun addition to our family!...except when she brings in a squirrel!! Hope we can celebrate many more with her!

JAXI!......

I wasn't in the frame of mind to get my camera......so no pictures!! I had let Jaxi out and often if she doesn't have to go potty, she looks for a way to get in the front yard. Which is exactly where I found her...in the road!

About a week ago a squirrel had gotten hit....it was pretty flattened by this time....you are starting to know where I am going with this! Well, she thought it a good idea, to get it and parade around our yard with it hanging out of her mouth...NICE....NOT!! So, I went to the garage to get a shovel. The next problem....she will never give up a 'prize' if she knows you want it!! She thinks more of it as a challenge...I got it and you want it!

SOOO....I chased her into the garage, thinking I could at least corner her with it! Great idea!! Then it came to me.....if I get her in the entryway...I can really get her! Problem.....the house door was open!

So like any good dogs, she took her opportunity to run in! So here I am chasing her in the house, squirrel hanging out of her mouth, with a shovel! All I could think was.....not my bed!! Her other favorite spot to stow-away....behind the couch....when she has something she's not suppose to, we can always finder her back there! Like the day, she stole one of Steve's chicken nuggets off his plate, while he was holding it!!!...bad dog!

Anyways back to my story......She ran up on the couch standing there looking at me....come on get it, I dare you! She did ultimately drop it without to much trouble and to my delight it was pretty much dried up...but I didn't know that, till that point!!!

Did I actually pay for a dog????.....

Jaxi Got A Package.....

Jaxi got a package in the mail today.......you can see what was in it! She is devouring it. I thought it looked kinda gross.....but she's lov'in it. She must have a good smeller on her because even as I was opening the package, she came and sat by me with a look of anticipation...I think she was even licking her lips!

Notice the 'grip' she has on the bone. Thanx Gina for not liking your treats and sharing them with Jaxi. She's in doggy heaven!

It's Official.....

Here she is....Jaxi. We officially have one dog! She has adjusted to not having her sisiter around. We were expecting some crying the first night....none!!! She loves to play tug-o-war. She is very playful but then takes a 2 hour nap!! Here favorite place to lay is on the chair by Steve. She is going next week to be 'altered'. Her potty training has gone very well...can't complain. I'm hoping that she doesn't become a digger this summer!!!
