Slow and Steady

....wins the race...they say anyway!
I don't know who "they" are...but that's for a different post!
Yesterday, we tackled the cupboard with lots of books and 'stuff'.
I love it clean but something inside me tends to close the doors and have the 'out of sight out of mind' mindset!!
It was so bad Trent wanted to clean it...I know, that bad...when a 9 yr old boy would want it clean!
Here is the before....
My assistant... (sporting one of his finds!)
The after!!!  Feels so good!
I know, I have let you see my messy cupboard...please don't think ill of me!  I know I had you all fooled!!!
Hey, at least I'm taking steps!  And mostly importantly, I delivered 3 boxes of books to my neighbor for her classroom!  Back to cleaning....

More Walls...

So I have had this purchased for a long time...just now got it up!
We put this up over our bed.
I would have included our headboard in the picture but it is really ugly...I mean really!
I didn't want to take away from the wall decor!  I saw this at Hobby Lobby sometime back and couldn't wait till it went on sale so I could get it.
Once I purchased it I had to wait for Steve to put it on the wall.
I could have done it but it would have been all squehawed!
I not real good with eyeing things!
So here is the finished product!

Bring on Spring...

Spring is coming...
but not soon enough for some us!
So we have had to resort to drastic measures...
Tulips from the local Walmart!  Aren't these pretty in pink?
They just make me smile every time I look at them in my kitchen window!
And all this joy for $5!
Who says you can't buy happiness?

and this has nothing to do with Spring...But I wanted to show it off!
I know it is nothing like some of the wall displays some of you have but it is working for me!!!
I bought these shelves, like last fall and we never got them up...till now!
The biggest decision we had to decide was how to place them.....which isn't the easiest for me.
Not easily admitted...was what I had on this wall prior to this display...an oak country shelf with a heart cut out in the middle...what was I thinking!!!  You know sometimes you just get comfortable with what's on the wall and you don't change it!  So anyway.....

Happy Birthday To Me....

In June, I celebrated my birthday...and yesterday, I saw the beauty of my birthday money.....

I purchased new blinds for my living room windows. I replaced my old 1"vinyl white mini blinds with 2"wood blinds. One word....LOVELY!

I should have done this sooner....much sooner....but you know how time slips away. One reason I wasn't in a big rush to get them replaced...dogs! Our last dog tore down our living room blinds more than once!

In Troy's words...."WOW..it's gives a much different look!"

I know it's not much change..but I like it!

"Project Nightmare".....

Here's what I can show you before the project began. You really don't want to see the tub and walls..trust me!

After Steve ripped off the tub enclosure walls

Here he is wondering how he is ever gonna get that out of the 2nd story bathroom! Yes, that would be a jack lifting the tub.

This is a picture of the bottom of the tub, so you can get a view of the thickness we were dealing with! She is about 500-600 lbs...she makes me feel skinny~! Solid Cast Iron Baby! Original tub put in our 1935 house!
This would be after they took down the plaster that was behind the shower walls. Now, I have a perfectly dusted house! There is a fine coat on everything! blinds, curtains, chairs, tables, fans, lamps shades, counters.....

Oops...I'm suppose to be focusing on the end goal...right???
BTW..some of you might be wondering how we have showered since Friday when the project began. Well...Steve has gotten it to various stages that allowed him to hang plastic drop cloths covering the walls, which were draped into the tub. perfect!
