Boys to Men....

Our boys are blessed to have a Dad that takes time to teach them how to be men. We don't have enough of those these days! Luckily, Steve knows how to do a lot...so he is a great instructor.

This project...Brakes! Tyler and Steve were replaceing the brake pads on the van, which turned into a Rotor job also. Ordinarily, that wouldn't have been a big deal but they were doing this on prom day at 1pm.

Needless to say, at 2:15 Tyler had not taken a shower yet! Good thing he didn't have to 'do' his hair and nails!! Well, you've seen the pictures, so he got a shower and was looking fine!

Kent City Prom 2010....

Tyler getting ready.
We left to pick-up Alisha at 3 to we could get plenty of pictures.
The first placed we headed was Trestle Park...which is near her house. It's a very small park but very cute and a great setting for pictures. We had a hard time getting Tyler to keep his eyes open..he apparently has G-ma Bonnie's 'close your eyes when someone is taking a picture' syndrome! The other issue...two of us were taking pictures so they didn't know who to look at. But we did get a few keepers...
One of my favorites of Alisha....Tyler had his eyes closed so I cropped him out...but I couldn't delete this magical picture of Alisha! Isn't she a beauty!

These were taken at the Rockford Dam. It was a sunny day to take pictures...they were so willing to let us position them around! Dude, get out of the river!

Just a fun one!!

The last one before they headed out to 'Almost Paradise'

A night they will never forget!

Blogmercial....

I have to admit..I'm kind of a gadget queen. There I said it! Now, don't be confused with a infomercial queen...that's not me!

Some of my gadgets have worked good...some...not so good.

I first saw these, when a lady I clean for had them. My first thought...why does she have those?? I never really asked her about them...I just knew she had them.

So about 3 weeks ago I bought some for my very own.....

They are Dryer Balls. You get two per package and I bought them at Menards for $3.50ish.

I wasn't sure at first if I just wanted them to work out. But, I really think they do! I know they make great claims to fluffier towels, no fabric softener, no ironing....blah blah blah....saving on dryer time.... I'm not sure if any of those things are true....so why do I think they work?

It seems to me that the clothes are less wrinkled. I think the balls go around with the clothes and fluff them so they are wrinkled less....I don't know? I didn't think they made a lot of noise in the dryer ....but you could hear them jumping around.

I bought them with out knowing all those big claims mentioned above. I didn't realize they had to many claims till I googled them. So maybe, I had lower expectations than all the rest of the cyber world....I don't know.

It is quite possible they help the clothes dryer faster but I have not timed a regular load vs. a dryer ball load. And besides, how could you really know unless they were the exact same load of clothes. Really, I don't have that much time on my hands!!

So, if you have $4 to invest in Dryer Balls...Do It! Go...get them..Now...Do it!

Make it a Play...Date!

Last night we attended a play at Algoma Christian School. This is the school Alisha attends just outside of Kent City.
The play was Pride & Prejudice...which I had never seen or read! We enjoyed watching it with Dad & Linda...they had never seen it either!!
Alisha is wearing the darker blue dress in the first picture...then the lighter blue dress (by the looks of things she switched wardrobes with the other girl!)

The kids did a great job and you can tell they put a lot of hard work into it!

Alisha played the roll of Lydia. She did a great job and was very cute!

Tyler came with us at the last minute...hmmm...wonder why he didn't just go on Saturday, his original plan! BTW..he is still going on Saturday!
She has two performances today...so I'm sure she will be exhausted...come tonight about 10!
Great Job Alisha!! We are so proud of you!

We had a fun time and had great seats!
As soon as we got home, we left to go to our Home Fellowship Group (HFG). We were going Quad riding..I know what kind of HFG is this? We do a fun event and a spiritual meeting each month...this was obviously our fun event!

Here are the kids eating and not wanting their picture taken!

Again!

Now, I know this is lame! but I took no pictures of the guys riding quads!
So, you will just have to trust me that they were riding. I heard they played hide and go seek on quads!
It was a busy Saturday!
