Eatin' Out

I know, I know this is a very late post.....but you know the sang..."better late than never" But like I have wrote before..this is a blog to share my life and also a journal for me to keep track of my life.

One Sunday, after my Dad's party....all of us Kids & Grandkids headed to Wendy's. We had a great time together...laughing and redesigning the dining room. It was hard for me to get everyone in...so here is my best shot. Here is Grandma Elsie & (bil) Tod...nice of him, not so nice of g-ma. She was in fine form that day!On Labor Day we took over Arnie's in Rockford. They were so great at accommodating us! Half the crew had come from a fun day at Craig's Cruisers and half at come from the mall...you figure out who!!! Another great time together..love my family! Here is Eric (Hannah's boyfriend) and Trent making Batman Eyes. Trent fell in love with Eric (along with Hannah). Eric had to leave that night to head back to Uof M. The next day, when we were heading over to Dad & Linda's, I was telling Trent to get ready to head over..he asked...who was going to be there? I told him Eric had left to go back to college....Trent said he didn't want to go over...lol!! We were also able to squeeze in a cousins lunch! We meet my cousins Denise and Diana at Russ's on Alpine. It's always fun to relive some of your childhood with family.
LOVE IT!!!

Back to School 2010-2011

Tyler the last-first day of High School!! He's a Senior! I couldn't get a picture of the three of them together as Tyler heads up to school at 5:45 ish or more like 5:52...bus leaving at 5:55!

He is attending first session at Kent Career Tech Center (KCTC) in Grand Rapids. He is in the Aviation Maintenance Program which he attended his Junior year too. The program has an actually hanger at the Gerald Ford Airport...so he does a lot of bus hopping to get there. He gets on a bus in KC..then Sparta..then KCTC...then airport! Our 3rd grader Trent..isn't he the most adorable kid!! Just love him to pieces! Troy is a Sophomore..he looks thrilled doesn't he!
They are great boys ad we are so proud of the men they are becoming! We pray that God will bless there lives! Love you guys!

Family Pictures

Ever have something weighing on you? You are always thinking of getting it done..but just don't find the time? As time pass, it seems less likely to get done! Well, that has been my blog lately..as if you hadn't noticed!

So here it goes....some of our family shots. Let's just say there were lots and lots more but I had to get it done..so here goes some of my favorites!

A five generation picture...well kind of...Actually, it should be my mom...but as we know she couldn't make it!Ready or not.....The 'Sister' picture. We had about 50 pictures to narrow down to the best one....this one won....Julie Janice Joanne The granddaughters with Grandma Elsie..... The whole gang....We managed to get a pretty descent picture..imagine that!

The Shindig..

This has been painfully slow getting the party pictures posted..... Man, I really have been busy! I mean it, I have!

So here is the Birthday Boy......

The party goers...I was a little concerned about the weight limit of the deck...good news... it stayed attached to the house...but we definitely put it to the limit! From the yard...The chef..BIL-Tod..flip burger and rolling hot dogsMore partiers...A birthday hug for the birthday boy. Trent had a special gift he had gotten around (unannounced to me or Steve) for G-pa....He knows G-pa likes golf so he found a golf ball and he re-gifted a clippy he had gotten at Christmas time. He put it in a gift bag and made a card. He was so disappointed when we couldn't find the gift the day of the party....he was insistent we find the gift and give it to him at his party...no worries, we found it....Troy had hidden it....don't ask!!!! He sure loves his Grandpa! And Linda...she is such a special blessing. The best part is, she loves my dad! She is so good to all of us! She welcomed all of us in to their home to hang out all day and half the night. One night they had 15 extra people spending the night...WHOA! She never gets rattled (at least she doesn't let us see it!) She is a wonderful women that loves the Lord too....Thanks you Linda for loving all of us! We Soooo Appreciate You!And my Grandma Marian...some call her Marian...some call her 'Aunt Marian'...But I get to call her Grandma! She is a wonderful women, she has given her life to ministry over the years...she is 91 years old....doesn't she look great!

One of the ways she served the Lord was by doing VBS's all over the U.S. Many many moons ago she was doing VBS meetings at Kent City Baptist Church and my little Steve went forward to give his life to Christ....just think of that...she was influential in my life by sharing the gospel with my future husband...AWESOME!! Sometimes I ponder the lives she has touched over her many years...uncomprehendable!and the pooped out Birthday Boy! I guess he can't party like he used too!

Wait, till I post the family pictures and the 'sisters' pictures

Family....

I took an unscheduled sabbatical from my blog. Actually things have been a little crazy in our life, to say the least...it was a good crazy though! A crazy I wouldn't have given up for anything. My family was all together! It doesn't happen very often that we can all come together at the same time! As our kids have grown, we all know it will happen less and less. We spent a week coming in one door to only leave a few minutes later! The occasion was my Dad's 70th birthday....I'll post pictures of that party later.

Let me list all that came from near and far!
my sister Julie her husband Tod--California
their son Joel and his wife Carissa and baby Ryan--Oregon
their daughter Hannah--California (in college)

my sister Janice and her husband John--Indiana
their sons Arie and Andrew--Indiana (both in college)

Grandma Elsie--Florida

Grandma Marian & R.H.--Illinois

John's motorcycle friend came one night

Hannah's boyfriend Eric came for a couple of days (college in MI)

I had sooooo many pictures, I was dragging my feet on posting...because I couldn't pick and choose which pictures would "make the blog". So, I decided tonight was the night to buckle down and start....so here are a few...enjoy!

We are a gaming family...we love to play cards together..so here are a few pictures.....
Playing Golf with Skip-Bo cards...so fun....
Hannah and Trent playing UNO...they are so photogenic!Euchre at the kitchen table...Tyler & Troy with their cousins Arie and AndrewOn night we held a Euchre tournament. Here's Dad, Hannah, Joel and Carissa...finishing up there game. Linda was the winner of the night. We had camp fires by the lake...we cooked giant marshmallows, our family favorite...pie irons, hot dogs and warmed hamburgers. Dad shared some of his teen/college and years in the service with us.
We jet skied together. Here's Troy
Tyler and Alisha
Tyler, Arie and Andrew...
We prayed together....
We ate together. G-pa eating with the grand kids.
So, I have a few more pictures to post...like 1,500...I think that is how many pictures Tod copied for me! Okay, I won't post alllll of them! Check back to see what else we did!

Biker Babes...

We tried something new...we went for a bike ride and out for dinner. The Ladies from church gathered at 14 mile road and road to 10 mile rd. Some had newly purchased bikes, some had just gotten them down from the rafters....and some had gotten back from a little bike trip...San Francisco to Kentucky!!! I was one of the ones that had not ridden all season...but I thought I could push myself 4 miles if there was food at the end!

Here we are getting ready to take off....(this was not the whole group)

We got to our destination...Arnie's in Rockford..it's a beautiful town...very quaint! We had a bit of time before our reservation so we walked the boardwalk next to the river....
We snagged a innocent bystander to take our picture, here is about half of the group....
22 of us ate at Arnies....We had a great time laughing and getting to know some of the ladies I didn't know so well! Then we had to ride back to 14 mile road! Ummmmm...it was a slow incline upward! Which I realized as we were riding on our way there, that I was coasting a lot....Hmmmm....something tells me we are going to have to petal up hill to our cars! We did have to petal.....I'm proud to tell you that I made it without getting off! I wanted to..but I didn't.
I'm inherently lazy! I don't like to exercise, I don't like to run, jog or walk...I like to eat ice cream and visit around a picnic table. That's me~
